The EPLED 310 picosecond pulsed LED light source from Edinburgh Instruments (Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland) delivers a sub-800 ps typical pulse width at 310 nm for spectroscopy instrumentation such as fluorescence lifetime spectrometers and fluorescence lifetime multiwell plate readers. Optimized for time-correlated single-photon counting (TCSPC), the light sources are an alternative to nanosecond flashlamps and modelocked Ti:sapphire femtosecond lasers. Customized versions for integration within various types of analytical instrumentation are also available.
