The Sapphire EV76C571ACT and EV76C571ABT 2 Mpixel CMOS image sensors from e2v (Chelmsford, Essex, England) are manufactured with a microlens designed to accept a chief ray angle (CRA) as low as zero degrees. The feature improves performance with uniformity of response over the whole array area for use in applications such as microscopy. The sensors can be used with the same electronic and optical interfaces as the company's standard Sapphire 2 Mpixel EV76C570, enabling existing camera systems to serve new applications or improve performance in current applications because of better image uniformity and reduced shading artifacts.
