Mauna Kea Technologies launches optical biopsy platform commercially

In vivo cellular imaging technology developer Mauna Kea Technologies has launched its Endomicroscopy Virtual Assistant (EVA) for use with the company's Cellvizio probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy system, enabling optical biopsy for digestive, pulmonary, and urological applications.

EVA is now available commercially in the U.S. and Europe.

EVA's features include SmartReview technology, which highlights the stable segments within Cellvizio videos for optical biopsy procedure review. FastExtract technology permits an immediate selection of the video clips identified by SmartReview, while Atlas technology provides reference videos for each organ and pathology on the Cellvizio system. DICOM connectivity enables integration of Cellvizio into a hospital information system for digital archiving and transmission of optical biopsy data.
