LAZERMaster and ARCMaster optical fiber splicers from Fujikura Europe now include a power stability feature to allow for stable laser output, enabling highly repeatable optical fiber terminal processes such as stripping, cutting, and splicing in medical applications such as optical coherence tomography (OCT).

LAZERMaster and ARCMaster optical fiber splicers from Fujikura Europe (Chessington, England) now include a power stability feature to allow for stable laser output, enabling highly repeatable optical fiber terminal processes for splicing and high-precision glass shaping in medical applications such as optical coherence tomography (OCT). An integrated closed-loop feedback system and real-time measurement function are said to reduce splice loss and peak-to-peak taper ripple. The company's advanced splicing technology includes CO2 laser heating systems for cleaner splicing with no contamination, no electrodes for low maintenance costs, and little or no instability.
