Video microscopy captures bacterial infection in real time, in vivo

Bath and Exeter, England--Most studies of bacterial infection are conducted after the death of the infected organism. But a new system is the first to show the process of infection in real-time within living organisms. The work is important because cells often behave very differently when they are removed from their natural environment. Bath and Exeter, England--Most studies of bacterial infection are conducted after the death of the infected organism. But a new system, developed at the University of Bath and University of Exeter (both in the UK) claims to be the first to show the process of bacterial infection in real-time within living organisms.
