CoolLED establishes North America business

LED illumination products maker CoolLED (Andover, England) has formed CoolLED USA (Yorktown Heights, NY) to promote and support the company's LED products, which serve the life sciences, to users in the US and Canada. The result of a joint venture between CoolLED and microscope and instrument automation specialist Tek5 systems (also of Yorktown Heights), CoolLED USA became official in October 2012 at the annual Neuroscience meeting (New Orleans, LA).

The new business will focus on providing support to CoolLED’s users in research and OEM applications and operate in conjunction with existing distribution networks to offer enhanced support to its North American customers. It will also enable illumination solutions for fluorescence and optogenetics applications, having recently launched its pE-300 LED light source as well as fiber delivery options, explains Dave Denu, principal, CoolLED USA.
