Compact DPSS lasers at various wavelengths from Newport

Newport Corporation's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division (Mountain View, CA) has expanded its line of compact diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers for bioinstrumentation. New Excelsior lasers include continuous wave (CW) 50mW at 515nm and 50mW at 594 nm. And, the Excelsior and Cyan 488nm lasers at 10 to 40 mW are now available with power-adjustability. Many Excelsior OEM lasers are also offered as fiber-coupled versions, including the 375, 405, 440, 473, 532, 561, 642, 785, and 1064 nm models. The Excelsior family now includes 13 discrete wavelengths and over 100 different models for confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and other bioinstrumentation applications.

According to Newport, theirs is the broadest offering of high reliability, compact lasers with best-in-class lifetime data. The Excelsior lasers promise superior beam quality and low optical noise for excellent fluorescence signal-to-noise ratios.

Newport's family of DPSS lasers also promises excellent thermal management for simplified mechanical integration. The lasers are compact for plug-and-play performance, with no matched pairs and no adjustments needed.

Newport Launches New Compact Lasers for Bioinstrumentation

New DPSS Lasers include 50mW at 515 nm and 594 nm

Mountain View, CA - February 2, 2009 - Newport Corporation's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division announces the expanded portfolio of compact diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers. The new Excelsior® lasers include continuous wave (CW) 50mW at 515nm and 50mW at 594 nm. In addition, the Excelsior and Cyan™ 488nm lasers at 10 to 40 mW are now available with power-adjustability. Many Excelsior OEM lasers are also offered as fiber-coupled versions, including the 375, 405, 440, 473, 532, 561, 642, 785, and 1064 nm models for added flexibility.
